I posted yesterday about a no start condition after changing timing belt. Well, today when I was checking all the connections, I noticed that the ptu wasn't tight against the bracket that mounts on the timing cover. I tightened it down, and tried starting the car. It turned over like yesterday, but it tried firing up, and started for about 2 seconds, running very badly. This had me scared that maybe indeed somehow the belt jumped a tooth or the marks SOMEHOW weren't lined up. (Don't understand, because I triple checked eveything). So I immediately turned the car off, and when the motor stopped I heard something that sounded to me like a piston hitting a valve. Don't understand how that would be the case, because i turned the crank will a pull bar multiple revolutions to ensure that everything was lined up correctly, and no contact was being make. Also, when I got out to take a look around, it seemed that I smelled something like maybe a wire burning, however I didn't see any smoke anywhere. I smelled the exhaust, at the tailpipe, and it smelled extremely rich. Anyone have any ideas, or do you guys think that I have f*cked a valve up??? Is my next move it to tear everything back down and reposition the belt?????
